Brazilia was the visionary new capital for a modern late 20th century country which was reinventing itself for the modern age – and is still doing so today. Photographs of the Brazilian capital by Andrew Prokos, are among this year’s winners at the international photography awards competition and invoke the style and romance of Oscar Niemeyer’s original designs.
Given the passage of the last 50 years, it would be interesting to know from the Brazilians whether this experiment to create a new capital worked and, when the buildings need major refurbishment due to their age, what will happen?
