Bonham’s was more cool and restrained than its competitors at the start of October, guarded by Jaumet Plensa’s ‘The Heart of Trees’ at the doorway and including sculpture by Antony Gormley, Tony Cragg (Constant Change) and Max Bill, along with El Anatsui’s ‘Wastepaper Basket’.
On the other floors was a diverse range of modern and contemporary African art reflecting the growing interest in such art with a major exhibition at Somerset House this month.
