Two very different exhibitions at Bonham’s this week – upstairs a celebration of 100 years of Bentley Racing with stylish well-engineered classic racing cars from the 1920′s alongside 100 items of memorabilia from the world of racing, including many linked to the racing circuit in Brooklands in Surrey; downstairs photographs by Juergen Teller who was invited into their hospices by Demelza Hospice Care, a charity which supports children with heart-wrenching terminal medical conditions and their families. The moving photographs show both the reality of the difficult lives that these children and their families are going through, along with joyful moments when children do as all children do and laugh, smile, play and have fun.
Ian Caldwell
"The many great gardens of the world, of literature and poetry, of painting and music, of religion and architecture, all make the point as clear as possible: The soul cannot thrive in the absence of a garden. If you don't want paradise, you are not human; and if you are not human, you don't have a soul."
(Thomas Moore)
To be an architect means having a wide range of interests - architecture, art and creativity in all its variety of forms, sustainability, science and innovation. The greatest interest is often where these different worlds overlap and collide - that is when something imaginative often occurs that pushes us all forward to another place

"Remember that the most beautiful things in the world are the most useless; peacocks and lilies for example"
(John Ruskin)
