Showing the versatility of both his work and the former industrial space which is now the Marian Goodman Gallery in Soho, Matt Saunders combines fast-moving video, etchings, photography in his exhibition ‘Poems of Our Climate’. There is something almost spiritual about the spaces in which there is total silence apart from the gentle whirring of fans from the digital projectors with their fast-moving images – sometimes quite fluid; sometimes with the shadowy forms of people. as they break free of the screens, projecting beyond them, in many cases able to be seen from all around as the viewer connects with them when exploring the exhibition.
Alongside are several series of highly-accomplished etchings and photographs which, with their soft edges, reinforce the atmosphere of the space, juxtaposed alongside each other and the video installations.
