January is a quiet month for auctions in London with many potential  bidders either enjoying the warmer weather of Florida or the South of France or the colder weather in Switzerland for the skiing.   It is therefore a good time for alternative auctions, especially if bidding can be done online.  Phillips this weekend is hosting the 2018 Exhibition and Gala Auction for British Friends of the Art Museums of Israel, supported by artists including Ai Weiwei, Barnaby Furnass, Keith Tyson, Tom Leighton and several Israeli artists who have donated works to the Exhibition and Auction which will benefit educational outreach programmes for disadvantaged youngsters in Israel.
