As you explore this year’s Sculpture of the City in London, you come across something different – ‘Botanic’ by Jennifer Steinkamp with flowers blowing above your head, colliding with each other and against the buildings. Then you discover one of the City’s hidden secrets, the Garden at 120 Fenchurch Street.
Hush; no-one knows about it but there is a garden on the 15th floor of Eric Parry’s new office building at 120 Fenchurch Street, which you discover quite by accident. Unlike the Roof Garden in the Walkie Talkie, this garden is totally open to the sky, like a real garden, which will restrict its use in inclement weather.
At the moment there is a coffee cart, but a restaurant is anticipated. There are great views all round though, given its height, they are not as far-reaching as the Roof Garden, but this is a real asset for the City which will no doubt grow in popularity ad it becomes better-known,
