Gorillas are angrily beating their chests or about to forcefully throw oil drums in retaliation for the harm humans have caused by global warming and environmental destruction, pandas are chewing bamboo which may soon be in short supply, panthers are prowling, bears are exploring, wolves are howling, crocodiles are snapping….wild animals are taking back Mayfair.
French artist Richard Orlinksi’s art concept store has popped up in New Bond Street, full of his colourful pop-sculptures through which he aims to promote the protection of wild animals and draw attention to the harm being done to animals and their habitats by human activities and global warming. Animals are one of the first things which are damaged from environmental and climate change – what will happen when the gorillas fight back?
Born in 1966 and a sculptor since 2004, Orlinski is one of France’s best-selling French contemporary artists, with an aim to make art accessible to everyone, even children. He also has a passion for music, cinema and theatre with his electro-pop singles on top of the charts in France as well as abroad. A man of many talents!
It’s not all bad – there is optimism too: there is love.
