Valeria Nascimento trained as an architect in Brazil but then decided to become a ceramic artist, working in Brazil until she moved to London in 1999. At her third solo exhibition “Elementa” at the Woolff Gallery, Valeria continues to create art of great beauty by assembling a series of the most delicate of porcelain shapes, in black and white – -occasionally with the smallest contrasting splash of colour-, into natural forms.

To be an architect means having a wide range of interests - architecture, art and creativity in all its variety of forms, sustainability, science and innovation. The greatest interest is often where these different worlds overlap and collide - that is when something imaginative often occurs that pushes us all forward to another place
