Most galleries have opening parties. It being January, a quiet time in the art world, Gazelli Art in Mayfair held a closing party for its exhibition ‘Multiverse’ – an exhibition of paintings by three artists, Christopher Battye and Francesca Blomfield from England and Dustin Pevey from the USA, along with other work including London designer/artist Camilla Bliss’s sculptural spearheads.
The focus of the exhibition with three different artists was on painting and the way in which each of them uses the medium to tell a story. There are no quiet images of sheep in landscapes here – these are at time amusing, at time intriguing, at time disturbing, paintings to be looked into and to examine life as the artists have painted it. Alongside the paintings, Camilla Bliss’s spearheads added a further dimension.
